During CASE teacher training, participants learn a wide variety of skills, including modeling the skills of scientific inquiry and design, which include innovativeness, creativity, curiosity, and openness to new ideas and data. During the summer institutes, teachers learn together with colleagues from around the nation. They also benefit from exposure to Department of Defense laboratory scientists and engineers.
The following photographs were taken during the 2008 Summer Teacher Training Institute held at Garrett College and The Wisp Resort in McHenry, Maryland. Teachers from 13 states enjoyed hands-on inquiry- and design-based training.
